"Our short film for Vogue Mexico, an ode to immigrants who discover and learn how to love this city like I did."

Stylist & Creative Director, Vogue

For Vogue México, we collaborated on an editorial project that moved between high fashion and cinematic storytelling. Shot in New York City with photographer Juan Hernández, the work took shape as both a multipage spread and a fully realized fashion short film.

Storytelling

Titled “Control,” our film explores the tension between romantic thrill and personal ambition, following a protagonist who moves fluidly between love, independence, and self-determination. The story took on deeper resonance as the creative process unfolded, subtly reflecting themes of migration and belonging through the experience of Dominican model Luisana González, who was at a turning point in her own career.

Project Recap

For Vogue México, we collaborated on an editorial project that moved between high fashion and cinematic storytelling. Shot in New York City with photographer Juan Hernández, the work took shape as both a multipage spread and a fully realized fashion short film.

Titled “Control,” the film explores the tension between romantic thrill and personal ambition, following a protagonist who moves fluidly between love, independence, and self-determination. The story took on deeper resonance as the creative process unfolded, subtly reflecting themes of migration and belonging through the experience of Dominican model Luisana González, who was at a turning point in her own career.

BonTemps led creative direction, production, writing, and post-production, bringing the project from editorial concept to finished film. Shot on 16mm, the visuals capture a sense of immediacy and allure, balancing high-end fashion imagery with a more narrative, cinematic approach. The result feels distinctly Vogue while standing apart from a traditional fashion campaign.
